Canadian Expeditionary Force (Siberia) Composition The 16th Infantry Brigade included the following units:
Insignia Formation patches worn by the force in Siberia were patterned after the Canadian Expeditionary Force patches adopted from 1916. The 2" x 3" maroon rectangle of the proposed 5th Division was adopted. The brigade headquarters wore a 1/2" x 3" stripe above the rectangular flash, in red. The senior battalion, the 259th, wore a red circle, the next senior battalion wore a red half-circle. The MG battalion wore a red arrow. The cavalry squadron wore a square patch with a red star. The North Russia force wore a blue-grey patch with silver star.
