The Corps of Military Staff Clerks

Formed: 1 April 1912

Disbanded: 30 September 1946

The Corps of Military Staff Clerks was an administrative corps of the Canadian Army.

Lineage

  • 1 Apr 1912: The Corps of Military Staff Clerks authorized.

  • 1946: Disbanded and absorbed by the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. Thereafter, the RCASC trained and provided all clerks for staff and headquarters organizations.

History

The corps was authorized on 1 Apr 1912. On 15 Apr 1915 the corps was divided into two sections; Section A, comprised of officers and NCOs on administrative and clerical duties; and Section B, comprised of NCO and Other Rank orderly clerks.
