Small Box Girder Bridge

The Small Box Girder Bridge was a small assault bridge used to span gaps of up to 30 feet across. The bridge was unique in that it was carried and emplaced by a tank (usually a Churchill AVRE) and could therefore be deployed without exposing engineers to enemy fire. The bridges were used in 1944-45.
