Mission in the Dominican RepublicThe Mission of the Representative of the Secretary-General in the Dominican Republic (DOMREP) was a United Nations observer mission.UN Mandate This mission was established by the United Nations Security Council to observe the situation and report on breaches of the cease-fire. Canadian Military Involvement Canada provided one UNMO to this mission from May 1965 to Oct 1966. Insignia Service on this mission entitled a soldier to the "PEACE" bar for the Special Service Medal.
